About Us
Bree Wickenden - Owner & Founder
As a bricklayer's daughter, Bree spent time on building sites with Dad as a kid, developing an early appreciation for the skills, craftsmanship and hard work that go into creating a home. Little did she know that those early experiences would eventually lead her to a career in the building industry.
Bree started her professional journey as an engineering draftsperson, developing the technical skills and attention to detail that underpins her work today. When the need arose for building design drawings, she saw an opportunity to put those skills to use in a different way. Bumblebree Design & Drafting was born, bringing together Bree’s experience, creativity and passion for thoughtful design.
With more than 23 years in the building industry, Bree has come to appreciate that good design is about so much more than what's on paper. It's about understanding how people want to live, how a home responds to its surroundings, and how thoughtful design decisions can make everyday life better.
Passionate about passive solar design, natural and rustic finishes, and bringing building design and permaculture together, Bree create homes and properties that work with the landscape rather than against it.
Whether it's designing a new home, making the most of an existing property or exploring how buildings, gardens and the land can work together, Bree loves helping people turn their ideas into practical, considered designs that reflect the way they want to live.
At the heart of Bumblebree is a simple belief: your home should be more than just a building. It should support your lifestyle, reflect what matters to you and be a place where your heart is happy.
Bumblebree Design & Drafting — design. Grow. Build.
